Top Law Admission exams in India other than CLAT

Law is one of the most sought-after career options in India. Many professionals follow this career option to earn respect and a good life. However, do you know more than 15 entrance tests are conducted to offer you admission into the law college? However, most of the aspirants know about only one entrance test, CLAT.

CLAT is undoubtedly one of the most important entrance tests that offer you admissions to NLUs all over India. The CLAT consortium conducts these tests every year to select all the desirable aspirants to fill up the seats in the national law university. In this column, you are not going to learn about the CLAT. Rather, you will know about other law entrance tests from the national, state, and institutional levels. 

The national level entrance test’s score usually is valid throughout the nations and helps you achieve seats in law universities across India. In contrast, the state-level entrance tests are those tests whose scores and ranking are valid within a state only. AILET 

The AILET is an acronym for the All India Law entrance test. The National Law University of Delhi conducts this law entrance test only. Seeking an eligible score in this test will offer you admission to the Delhi National law university. It provides you admission to various law programs, including BA, LLB, LLM, and the Ph.D. programs of law.

In the AILET exam conducted by the NLU Delhi, 83 seats get filled for the BA LLB program, 40 for the LLM courses, and 73 seats for merits. Further, the NLU Delhi also reserved 10 seats for direct admissions.

AILET as an entrance test commences as an offline exam, and the aspirants have to fill the forms in the respective portal to appear in the test. The language of the exam is English.

MHCET

The MHCET is the Maharashtra common entrance test conducted by the Maharashtra government. The directorate of the Higher education of Maharashtra conducts this exam to select several desirable candidates to pursue their law degrees in the law universities of Maharashtra. By appearing in this exam, you can also read several law programs. It includes LLB, LLM, Ph.D., and many more. The MHCET test offers you 150 questions that you have to complete in 2 hours of duration. The most enjoyable part about this exam is you won’t get any negative markings for wrong answers.

IPU CET

The IPU CET is a common entrance test for offering you admission into the famous Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. By appearing on the test and qualifying for the exam, you can achieve a seat in the university to pursue several law degrees, including BA LLB, BBA LLB, etc. More than 1700 BA LLB seats and 660 seats for BBA LLB. IPU CET is a tough exam to clear with so many applicants applying for the college.

SLAT

SLAT is one more law entrance test conducted by The Symbiosis international university. That is why it is known as the Symbiosis law admission test. This entrance test will offer you admission to several law programs, including BA LLB, BBA LLB, etc. This exam method is online, and it provides you with 84 seats at the Symbiosis international university.

HPNLET

The HPNLET is a significant test acronym for Himachal Pradesh national law university entrance test. This test offers you admission to the famous Himachal Pradesh federal law university Shimla. The exam commences every year to provide you with access to courses, including UG courses, Ph.D. courses, and PG courses. This entrance test gets conducted for 150 marks and offers you 2 hours to complete. The HPNLET is also an exam that commences in the offline mode, and the question paper provided to you in this exam is quite apart from all the other entrance tests.
